Basic Sim Rules

* OOC Bullshit, including the limits you post in your profile that prevent Gorean behavior don't fucking matter on this sim.

Anyone who takes it into IM's is automatically wrong. Take your drama-llamaing elsewhere. If you need a mod to show up, you're probably wrong. Keep it IC.

There is no metered combat allowed on the docks, exchange, or the exchange island!

These areas are separated intentionally from the rest of the sim. This extends to people swimming in it's immediate vicinity. This is because the entire area is filled with roaming NPC's whom cannot easily be configured to attack Gorean Meter while moving around the complex objects in the sim. Those who violate the Exchange Point's neutrality are ICly considered to be impaled. Binds may be refused by people who are attacked in the exchange -- as all combat in the actual exchange is /role-played/.

   - Take your combat out into the forest!

   - Anyone downed on the docks, or in the exchange has the right to reset their meter.

   - The offending person is considered to be dragged off and impaled on a spear by NPC's - a group of mixed outlaws (including panther girls), mercenaries and merchants.

   - Trade zones must be kept safe for everyone; that's how it's done in the books.

That being said? An up-to-date copy of Gorean Meter is required for RP on this sim!

Meter Rules and Settings:

    - Defensive play and shields are now TURNED ON.

    - Women may not wield 40% or 45% melee weapons. Period.

      - Those downed by women breaking this rule may instantly reset their meter.

      - This does not include thrown spears with 30 second cooldown times.

    - Women may not pilot tarns, but may be passengers.

    - Zero post binding requirements.

    - If you are defeated, your character is seriously injured and may not fight again.

    - You must take prisoners equal to 1/2 your group's number.

    - No butt-knives or hair (or other ridiculously positioned / hidden) lock-picks. This game isn't a Houdini competition, it's about the drama of interaction.

    - Slaves may wield whatever weapons they want, but attacking a free person (or even touching a weapon) -- including with one's fists -- means that the slave may (and likely should!) be killed without mercy for rebellion!

    - Killing people whom act stupid / refuse to bend is allowed. (See "Reasonable Right To Life")

This sim is By The Book only.

This doesn't mean we're okay with boring, or unimaginative role-play. We prefer RP that requires the cooperation or conquest of strangers; trying to trade for ka la na, or something else rare and hard to find. Stealing someone's food from their camp -- or bullying them out of it -- etc. Whatever your character does, or gains -- take time to do it, and make sure you aren't so self-sufficient that you don't need other people.

    - RP on this sim is about conflict, and conflict resolution. If you aren't causing problems, solving problems, or trying to accomplish something through the conquest, intimidation or cooperation of other players, you're being boring.

 * This sim's roleplaying is grounded in authenticism.

Authenticism of the Gorean environment is required. It is not authentic for a dancing-silk-wearing slave to giggle and wander into a camp, and casually tell a panther girl (a free woman!) that she (a mere slave) ran away from her master (a free man!) because he was 'crazy'. No self-respecting free person would take a slave's word as evidence of anything. If you aren't deeply familiar with the books, I recommend buying them for a kindle application on your phone. If you don't know the first thing about Gorean culture, and are just trolling for your personal fetish (sex, a strong man / woman to dominate you, etc.) ... if you aren't here for the story, the conflict, and the emotional desperation of Gor ... then you probably need to get the fuck off this sim. <3

    - If the city you were owned by is hundreds of passangs (Gorean Miles) and weeks (or even more then a day!) of realistic travel away? You may want to consider putting a little more effort into your backstory. Slaves that run away from their owners deserve to be hamstringed according to the Gorean books and unless you're both capable and willing to physically defend your decision with weapons, it's likely to end poorly if you are captured.

 * People captured have a reasonable right to life. If they act like idiots when you threaten their lives, you are allowed to kill them; reasonable right to life ends when they act unreasonable.

A slave's life is -always- considered threatened. They're in a collar, they should know better then to act like idiots. It's displeasing. While the spirit of Gor says that a free person needs no justification to kill their own slave, it does let everyone else know that the owner has no control over themselves and their own property. If you're going to kill a slave (or anyone?) Try to do it constructively. The skeletons mounted on spears laying around the sim are named after players for a reason.

   - Though your character has a "reasonable" "right to life" so long they remain "reasonable", that behavior entails understanding that you are a captive on the primitive, and barbaric world of Gor - possibly even of Outlaws who care nothing about your city or group's politics and have little to no communication with other groups or with civilization. Being forcibly enslaved is a reality men and women may have to face if they fall captive.

 * Capture is discouraged by those whom are not apart of a Gorean community / city / role-playing organization; be it a band of outlaws, or a city, or village. Those whom have no allies are not allowed to engage forced capture or random helplessness on this sim.

Pre-requisites for capturing or being captured on the sim:

   - You must have a functional homestone, band, caste, community or other group of friends you regularly play with in Gor who are aware of your doings. Captives kept completely alone with no one but their captor/owner are not obligated to honor the capture RP (though nor are they required to void it! It's not like we really rescue people.. that's not our bag) We're here to RP in Gor, not be sequestered away from it. All collars are publicly acknowledged.

  - Likewise, if you're a random slave, wandering half-naked, or collared into the country-side, trying to get owned -- male or female -- we don't want you here. We don't exist to pick up strays. We're here to RP in Gor, not fulfill your personal fem-dom / les-dom fetish.

  - Regularly roleplaying at the exchange point, or with members of the sim population COUNTS so long as you continue doing so after the capture. Remember: The exchange point is a safe-zone. You can totally drag a new slave there, and rape them over a barrel, and nobody's allowed to do a thing about it in the exchange or docks. What a free person does with their own slave is their business.

 * The sim entrance is a FLAT PANNEL in the OOC landing zone that proudly displayed the the motivational pic at the top of this page. Click it to teleport to the docks.

   - Thank-you for reading! :D
