What Sabina's Band Wants

Sabina's band is not like most panther girl groups on SL. If we get a captive, we generally enslave them. This is how it's done in the books, and that's how we do it here. New members can usually petition for the band by showing their worth -- we aren't looking just for women who can shoot a bow, or kill a tabuk.

We're Outlaws. Why you loose an arrow, or backhand a slave is just as important as striking your intended target. Your participation matters more then your success ratio.

Captives and Slaves:

If you're weak, and soft, and easily intimidated? Your character will always be a slave in the eyes of the band. Male or female.

If you're regularly insulting and provoking those stronger then you, or those whom have power over you, without ability to back up due to being unarmed or in a position of bondage? You will quickly get yourself killed for rebellion if members of the band believe you would endanger or harm them for an opportunity to escape.

"I wanted to tear at their eyes with my fingernails. But I did not wish to be whipped, or slain. It is not surprising that the Gorean slave girl is obedient. Those who are not obedient are often destroyed. I was terribly afraid then, that I had even felt a momentary impulse to rebellion. I shook with terror. Did I think I was still on Earth? Did I not know I was now on Gor? I shuddered. Rebellion is not permitted to the Gorean slave girl."

-- "Judie Thornton / Dina", on Rebellion in Slave Girl of Gor

Those whom actively role-play with other slaves, and panther girls on the sim, will get to stay. Those whom do not roleplay with others, and seek only 1 on 1 roleplays with their favorite dominant personality will be singled out and sold to further the story-line.

Captured enemies who are not killed (as we're well within our rights to do when attacked with deadly weapons like swords) will be treated as slaves, collared, branded and kept, or sold at the wishes of the band's members.

"We were following an enemy panther girl,

She said, “one less skilled then yourself, of the band of Hura, who would take my land from me.

She smiled. “We would have slain her. It was her good fortune that you took her slave.

She laughed. “We saw you pin her to the tree, and bracelet her. You are skilled with the bow.

....

It is said,” I said, “that in the band of Hura there are more than a hundred women.

Verna smiled. “We shall pick them off,” she said, “one by one, and then, when they flee, we shall again follow them, and drop them one by one. When they turn in the forest and throw down their arms, the last of them, we shall put them in chains and sell them to men.” There was bitterness in Verna’s face. “I would see Hura, and her high girls,”  she said, “sold as slaves to men.

She looked at me, and laughed. “Grenna,” she said, “is already slave. It is an excellent start.

You hate them so?” I said.

-- "Verna", on Enemy Panther Girls in Hunters of Gor

We are a role-playing community. We will keep (quality role-play) slaves equal to 1/2 the total members of the band, and all slaves -- like all loot -- are community property amongst the panther girls.

Unproven Panther Girls, and Other "Free" Women:

Those who are not soft and easily intimidated, those whom actively work to dominate and assure their place above those substantially weaker then them will be allowed the opportunity to prove themselves and earning a place in Sabina's band.

This is not a matter of hunting a tabuk, nor acting tough. It's about how we see you interact, not just with other members of the band, but with captives, and slaves. Ignoring them as they escape, ignoring them when they're idle and need to be put to task, or worse backing down from them when they try to intimidate you are not ways to prove yourself to Sabina's band and if you actively avoid role-play with slaves so that you won't have to deal with them, this going to be treated exactly as if you had retreated from them.

We role-play in Gor, and slaves are part of Gor, and overseeing them is the responsibility of free people.

How many are there?” I had asked.

Not many,” said Axel. “I would guess six or seven altogether.

At least one is a slave,” I said.

Most likely more,” said Axel. “Panther Women, who tend to be large and fierce for women, often hold smaller, weaker women as slaves.

Feminine women?” I said.

Yes,” he said, “they despise feminine women, and enjoy holding them as slaves.

How many would be armed then?” I asked.

Four or five,” he said.

-- "Axel" about Panther Girls keeping Slaves, in Smugglers of Gor

Those whom act in a cowardly, or lazy fashion or whom regularly avoid group roleplay will eventually be collared and sold as slaves. Those whom prove themselves enforcers of the status-quo, and can show their own strength will become members of Sabina's band.

Sabina's Band Panther Girls:

Panther Girls whom are capable of cowing slaves and prisoners, and role-playing in Gor as a Gorean in the spirit of Gor will be welcomed into Sabina's band. This is less of a privledge and more of..

"You know the mood and standards of the group dynamic and we trust you to keep them."

We understand, that you understand how to provide an authentic panther girl experience to other role-players whom interact with you, and trust you to have a leadership position over the unproven members of the band.

You're the one slaves are going to look to when no one is online. You're the one new members are going to look to for advice on role-playing in the forest. You're the last line of defense against non-authentic Gor-Evolved thinking.

Unless intrigues, and political infighting dictate otherwise, a Proven character's place in Sabina's band is steadfast until such a time as death, or slavery or other members see and act on reasonable doubt (such as submitting to slavery, or being captured or defeated consistently, or worse -- captured by slaves, or unable to rise to other challenges). It is about RP and about your character's ability to maintain the status-quo. Even Sabina herself is not beneath this.

Official Rules of Sabina's Band:

1) Read Captive, Hunters or Smugglers of Gor. If it's found you haven't, you'll be out.

2) Authenticity comes before everything else. If something seriously undermines the structural integrity of Gor, don't do it. Just because you OOCly there is no Priest Kings to blue flame death you doesn't mean your character should be running around wearing chainmail armor..  Just because a city's front gate guard of your city is an NPC, doesn't mean it's okay to murder him and assume player magistrates shouldn't try you for murder. Keep authenticty.

3) Dominate slaves. We are always going to keep fewer slaves then we have panther girls -- but those slaves we have need to be RPed with. They're legitimate players, or we wouldn't be keeping them. Put them to work, make them carry your stuff... take them to the exchange point and see if anyone wants to fur them for coin. Put them to use. That's why they're there, and why people enjoy RPing them. If we end up with to many -- we sell them to the best slavers we can find. If the slaver's standards are to high, and the slave's RP ability to low? Well.. sucks to be the slave.

4) My opinion on lesbianism/bi-sexuality is 'I don't care what you do with your slaves' .. D/s themes are integral to Gorean sexuality and the Gorean setting. There is no sexuality between equals in Gor. It's always based on the dom/sub dynamic, and that dom/sub thing is required for it to be Gorean -- where one person always has the social and physical advantage over the other and this is what so desperately arouses Gorean characters -- even in free companionship between a man, and a woman, the male companion is always allowed to (without legal reprocussion from his city!) enslave his free companion if he's displeased with her. It's not Gorean sexuality if it's between equals.. and even if you *are* a lesbian, that means even by the most liberal definitions of what it means to be Gorean.. panther girls shouldn't be fucking eachother unless one of them is getting collared.

5) Try not to kill people. Everyone has a "reasonable" right to life; If someone acts reasonable, or doesn't present a threat.. don't murder them unless they seriously deserve it. Everyone has a "reasonable" right to life, so long as they're acting "reasonably" when you have or recently had a knife to their throat. The moment they stop acting "reasonable", is when they stop having a right to life. We're probably not OOCly going to lose our minds if you kill someone though.. even if you kill someone in the band. We're Outlaws. Shit happens. We once drown a disrespectful and persistently disobedient kajira to steal her jewel-studded collar. Don't ask how we got it off her. Sabina cried.

6) RP Your Wounds. RP brands. RP collars. If you lose a GM meter fight, don't go rushing back into a fight. If you get downed by 15 arrows -- you don't have to RP 15 arrows having hit your body. One or two is fine-- but don't go charging off to fight again today. Likewise? If you get collared in RP? Wear it until you get a legitimate, non-shoddy RP to get it off. If you get branded... well-- hope it's a good looking one.
